Turnpike Update
On Feburary 19, 2011, the Turnpike converted to an all-electronic open road tolling system on the southern 47 miles of the Turnpike, from U.S. 1 in Florida City to the Miami-Dade/Broward County line.
For non-SunPass customers, including tourists and infrequent local travelers, the Turnpike implemented the TOLL-BY-PLATE program, which captures an image of a license plate and bills the registered owner of the vehicle for the tolls. The TOLL-BY-PLATE program is flexible and allows for customers to call in and pay their tolls before they receive a bill, call in and register for a TOLL-BY-PLATE account, or just wait for their bill in the mail. Payments can be made with cash, credit, and debit, through multiple payment methods including mail, on-line, or through new payment kiosks located at major retailers.
Smathers Beach gets a makeover
Smathers Beach is recapturing some of its former good looks with a massive infusion of sand. Fifteen to 30 trucks a day are bringing in fresh veneer of sand to Smathers Beach. The renourishment is a project to replenish sand that wears away over the years from storms and erosion. Learn More

Alcoholic beverage service is restricted to those 21 years or older (with valid identification).
Please note that the minimum age for guest registration is 21 years of age.
Check cashing services are available to Gold and Platinum Starwood Preferred Guest members who present a valid, major credit card (photo identification). There is a limit of $100 per stay.
Guests checking out before their scheduled departure date will be charged a fee of $75.
Please note that the Sheraton Suites Key West does not have rollaway beds for guest rooms.
The hotel is fully equipped with smoke detectors and emergency evacuation plans in all rooms and public areas.
Pet Policy
Weight limit is 40 pounds. Advise front desk of the pet at check in. No deposit required but guest will be responsible for any damage and will sign a waiver at check-in. Dogs may not be left unattended in the guest room - cell phone number required.
Waitlist Policy
The resort does not offer a waitlist.
